City to be decorated with Henry's Cat sculptures

Visitors to Bristol in 2014 will be dazzled by a sculpture trail featuring popular 80s cartoon character Henry's Cat.

The concrete cats will be decorated by a mix of local artists and celebrities, including Paul Daniels, Christopher Biggins and the tall one out of the Chuckle Brothers.

The designs will probably feature one where Henry's face is painted to look like Mel Gibson in Braveheart, and one where he is wearing a hat.

A spokesper for Visit Bristol said "We're really excited to let everyone know that Henry is coming to Bristol. Our feedback from previous years shows that people would rather look at a giant brand recognition exercise than some original art, which tends to be a bit controversial and requires thinking and stuff. Before you ask, in no way is this choice influenced by licencing fees."
